The Giallorossi drew 1-1 with Gian Piero Gasperini’s side this afternoon, a result which allowed Juventus to move eight points clear at the top of Serie A.

“In the first half we moved the ball slowly and didn’t do much with it,” Spalletti admitted, speaking to Mediaset after the final whistle.

“In the second half we did a lot better and we definitely deserved more, but the team had to do more.

“It’s likely to be two important points dropped, against this team at home you have to win.

“If I have anything to say to my team then I’m not going to do it in front of the television cameras, this team is strong and has potential but we need to learn how to handle these situations better.

“The result is disappointing but that doesn’t mean we should throw everything away, at the end we’ll see where we are and take responsibility.

“In the first half we played below our level, as I’ve said, and the team has also had difficulty as we don’t always play the same way, sometimes we play three at the back, sometimes four.

“I haven’t been able to work on distances, measurements and precise tactical schemes, whereas teams which always play the same way have that chance.

“On one hand versatility is virtue, but it depends on results. You could see that in the first half where we did almost nothing.”
