Luciano Spalletti “won’t hide that I’m proud” to have taken Inter back into the Champions League.

The Nerazzurri played their first match in the competition in over six years against Tottenham Hotspur on Tuesday, securing a late win thanks to goals from Mauro Icardi and Matias Vecino.

For the Coach this is his third Champions League involvement, having also taken Roma and Zenit St Petersburg into the competition.

“Those two adventures, as well as the one with Inter, are very valuable experiences for me,” Spalletti told UEFA’s Champions League Magazine.

“I have great memories of every experience, but I won’t hide that I’m proud of being able to take this great club back to where it belongs after many years.

“That’s something I’m particularly proud of.”
