Asked about reports linking him with the Russia job, Spalletti said: "This makes me happy. I am proud about it. It's something that would certainly interest me.

"They made me feel at home straight away here. We work well and my team has developed a beautiful brand of football."

Spalletti then responded to speculation regarding Zenit's interest in Fiorentina duo Juan Manuel Vargas and Felipe.

"I coached Felipe at Udinese. He is a quality player. We need to understand what has happened to him recently.

"Sinisa Mihajlovic will of course know why he isn't adapting to life in Florence.

"Vargas is a player who is strong physically. He has strength, good feet, character and is adapted to playing for any team.

"He can interest many different clubs," Spalletti concluded.
