Whether it’s this summer or next, Cristiano Giuntoli will still reportedly join Juventus to become their new sporting director.

The 51-year-old has been a key factor behind the Partenopei’s recent rise, picking up stars like Victor Osimhen, Kim Min-Jae and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. In the closing stages of Napoli’s Scudetto winning season, reports quickly began to emerge that the sporting director would soon be out the door in Campania.

Giuntoli is reportedly Juventus’ main target to become their new sporting director, but he still has a year left on his contract with Napoli, leaving his current situation shrouded in doubt.

Corriere di Torino via TMW reports that Giuntoli will meet with Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis in the coming days to discuss his future, with the appointment of coach Rudi Garcia allowing talks to progress.

Should he be released, the sporting director would immediately head to Juventus, but if not then he’d stay in the Campania capital for another year before heading to Turin.
