The teams last faced each other in September, when Roma took home a 1-0 victory worth three points in Serie A, and Sarri understands that a different result will take a small miracle.

“We must go to Rome with the spirit of doing something crazy, and the objective of going up against Fiorentina for a quarter-final derby,” said the Coach in his pre-game Press conference.

“We must play our own game, because if certain matches don't play out in the best possible way, then the potential loss could have long-term repercussions.

“This game is near impossible for us, but that's nothing new. Tomorrow, as always, we'll have to play our own game.”

Real Madrid Coach Carlo Ancelotti spoke about Italian football today after the Hall of Fame ceremony, and pointed to Empoli, along with Sampdoria and Sassuolo, as a team worth examining.

Sarri was openly pleased with his colleague's commentary.

“Ancelotti's compliments are a pleasure because they come from a person that I highly admire on a personal level, as well as from one of the most successful Coaches that are around now.”
