La Gazzetta dello Sport confirms Milan are in talks with Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek who is open to joining the Rossoneri in the summer, while the Blues ‘must sell.’

The England international has emerged as one of Milan’s priorities to strengthen the team in 2023-24. The 27-year-old’s contract at Stamford Bridge expires in June 2024, but Chelsea hold an option to extend his stay by one more season.

La Gazzetta dello Sport’s journalist Luca Bianchin confirms talks between the Rossoneri and the English midfielder are ongoing and that Loftus-Cheek would be glad to move to the Stadio Meazza in the summer.

According to the report, Chelsea’s asking price is €25m, although the fee is ‘negotiable.’

‘Somebody from Milan must have called Chelsea more than once,’ wrote Bianchin.’ Chelsea have an option to extend the midfielder’s contract beyond 2024 but ‘Todd Boehly knows he must sell if he wants to rebuild Chelsea.’

Loftus-Cheek has scored 13 goals in 151 appearances at Stamford Bridge and Milan are looking for a new central midfielder for next season after Ismael Bennacer’s knee injury, which will force the Algeria international to the sidelines for at least six months.

  1. Not even worth £2.5m let alone £25m. But then again, Maldini was prepared to pay £20m plus for Diaz! He knows how to waste resources.
