Inter return to action against Napoli on Saturday, when they aim to bounce back from a 1-0 defeat from the first leg of the semi-finals in the Coppa Italia.

Sneijder believes Inter can turn the game around and hopes to see his former side lift the Cup, but doesn’t feel the Milan outfit can claim the top spot in Serie A this term.

“I hope Inter will advance and win the Cup,” he told Il Mattino. “I think the time to win has arrived.

“There’s very little to do [in Serie A]. Juventus continue as clear favourites to win the title. They have the best team and develop with every season.

“You think their run is over but they manage to bring in new players who make the difference and find the right incentives to continue winning.”
