Inter are waiting for Paris Saint-Germain to increase their offer for Milan Skriniar and are refusing to sell for under €70m, but Bayern Munich going for Matthijs de Ligt could change matters for Chelsea.

The centre-back is hot property on the transfer market this summer and his contract is due to expire in June 2023, but an extension has already been agreed with his agent.

Because of this, the Nerazzurri feel they are in a position of power and don’t intend to part with the Slovakia international for less than €70m.

PSG’s latest proposal was over €50m plus bonuses, but they need another step forward in order to get a deal done.

Another development today has also changed the situation, because Bayern Munich director Hasan Salihamidzic is currently meeting with Juventus and Rafaela Pimenta, the agent of De Ligt, in Turin.

This means the Germans are pushing hard for the Dutch defender, who had been a primary target for Chelsea.

Therefore if Chelsea miss out on De Ligt, they are likely to dive back into the fray for Skriniar, putting pressure on Paris Saint-Germain.

As soon as Inter sell Skriniar, they will complete the swoop for Torino centre-back Gleison Bremer, who has already promised himself to the San Siro giants.

  1. INTER should not sell Skriniar for anything less than 75M. He is one of the best defenders around, in his prime with UCL experience.

  2. Hard time for Inter because looks PSG does not want to make fool paying stupid money for players. Now, if De Ligt is bought for 80m, I don’t see why Inter should expect less than 60m which looks like a reasonable value. Age matters too
