Speaking to Italian newspaper La Stampa, the 32-year-old ‘keeper stated that his side knows their strengths and limitations and are happy to play a such a vital match.

Playing for the Champions League qualification shows the level that the Granata has reached this season and the former Paris Saint Germain man agreed that it meant that his side was already at the top.

“We have found continuity and the hard work has paid off. We will be playing for something important against Milan and they are a side that has the characteristics of Coach Gennaro Gattuso.

“We must be strong and not let the tension affect us.”

Toro face the Rossoneri at home on Sunday and have the chance to leapfrog them in the table if they manage to take the three points.

Sirigu then stated that the moment he knew his side were on the right track was the 1-1 draw in March with Fiorentina at the Stadio Artemio Franchi.

“Drawing with Fiorentina, who are a very difficult side to play away, we were under pressure, but we didn’t crumble, and we remained united and dangerous on the counter throughout the game.

“It was then after that match that I realised we were on the right path.”

Sirgiu talked about his Coach Walter Mazzarri and the attention to detail he puts in on the training field.

“He is fanatical in preparing us for games, we know exactly what we have to do on the pitch. Delio Rossi and Antonio Conte are just like him.”

He finished up by talking about why he joined the Granata in 2017 and his future.

“Torino are an important team when President Urbano Cairo called me I said yes, I had a desire to help build the team back up and also myself.

“I can’t know the future. If the President receives an offer we will talk and weigh up the pros and cons. I don’t think I will play until I’m 40 though, I get anxious thinking about it. I would like to retire and live a normal life outside of football and I’d like to do it in Sardinia.”
