Carlo Ancelotti is leaning towards Torino goalkeeper Salvatore Sirigu for Napoli, having already worked with him at Paris Saint-Germain.

The Partenopei are without a shot-stopper after Pepe Reina was allowed to leave as a free agent, signing on for Milan.

Bernd Leno of Bayer Leverkusen and Sporting CP pick Rui Patricio have been the favourites for several weeks, but negotiations continue.

According to Sportitalia and the Corriere dello Sport, the arrival of Ancelotti as the new Coach could prompt a change of approach.

Napoli are instead turning towards Sirigu, who at the age of 31 brings valuable experience of both Serie A and the Champions League.

He has also revitalised his reputation in a year at Torino and is eager to break his way back into the running for the Italy side.

Sirigu would be considerably cheaper and easier to sign than the other alternatives and has already been tested in Serie A.

The former Palermo goalkeeper moved to PSG in 2011 and remained there for five years before loan spells with Sevilla and Osasuna.

He made a free transfer to Torino last summer.
