Salvatore Sirigu admits leaving Paris Saint-Germain “is a possibility” with Roma linked in the past.

The Italian international has lost his place in the side to Kevin Trapp this season, playing just once – last night’s win over Saint-Etienne in the Coupe de la Ligue.

“Not playing never makes you happy,” Sirigu acknowledged, speaking to Gazzetta dello Sport.

“But I don’t know if there’s real competition here. I’ve always trained to try and change things, but in the end the Coach [Laurent Blanc] decides.

“I can’t agree with his decisions, but as a professional I have to accept them.

“A transfer away? When you leave a club like PSG you have to consider many things. Leaving is a possibility. I don’t know what will happen in January, my agent is dealing with it.

“I have no problem staying, but I’m ready to evaluate any offer. I have no agreements, whether that’s returning to Italy or staying abroad.”

French sports newspaper L’Equipe suggested that Sirigu refused to play against Shakhtar Donetsk in order to avoid being cup-tied for the Champions League.

That was denied by his agent, and the player himself also strenuously denied those claims.

“It’s not true. Blanc explained it too. Before writing certain things you have to verify your sources and not indulge in nonsense rumours.”
