Bologna coach Sinisa Mihajlovic has claimed he doesn’t know where Milan forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic will play next year but reassured, they will 'remain friends’ no matter what.

The Rossoblu were linked with the 38-year-old because of the good friendship between the coach at the Renao Dall’Ara and the former Sweden international.

Zlatan’s future at Milan is uncertain and Bologna are still being mentioned as a possible destination for the veteran.

“When I played for Inter and he played for Juventus, we fought on the pitch, then he came to Milan and we became friends due to our common Slavic origin,” Mihajlovic said at a press conference.

“I don’t know what will happen next year, beyond all, our friendship will remain. We just hope that he will spare some thoughts for poor me,” the coach joked.

Mihajlovic has been through a tough battle against leukaemia the last year and underwent a bone marrow transplant after the chemotherapy.

He previously claimed the work at Bologna ‘kept me going’ and has brought the Veltri to the top half of Serie A.

Ahead of Saturday’s match against Milan and Ibrahimovic, Bologna sit 10th in the League after back-to-back draws against Parma and Napoli.
