The Giallorossi need a point in Romania this evening to be sure of qualification, but even a defeat could be enough if Basel don't beat Bayern Munich in Germany.

“Aside from anything else, the important thing will be to complete our work in this group,” the midfielder told the Corriere dello Sport.

“With the 3-2 win over Bayern we made a huge step forward towards the knockout round, but now we have to finish the job.

“A victory in Cluj would also send an important signal to Basel, who are playing to win in Munich.”

Simplicio is expected to start in midfield tonight after scoring a brace in the 2-2 draw with Chievo on Saturday.

“Everything might seem easy considering Cluj are already out of Europe and don't even have a chance of finishing in third, but we know there are no easy games in the Champions League.

“The Romanians will still want to put in a strong performance in front of their home fans and we must never think it's easy.”
