Francesco Totti played down his post-match row with teammate Nicolas Burdisso. “These things happen and we were angry at the equaliser.”

Roma's 1-1 draw was enough to see them through to the final 16 of the Champions League, but a late Cluj goal prompted an argument as they walked towards the tunnel.

“It was just a little discussion and these things happen in football,” explained Totti.

“He didn't want to concede that equaliser and was absolutely furious at letting in that goal, just as we were all angry, really.

“He is from Argentina, I am Roman, so it's a fair old clash of strong personalities!

“The important thing was to qualify, but from now onwards we need to play better and secure qualification earlier rather than wait to the last round.”

The Giallorossi could be a danger side in the draw along with Milan and Inter, as they all went through in second place.

“We will be facing a top level side and anything can happen,” continued Totti.

“We play every game with open football. On a personal level, I am satisfied with my performance so far this season, even if I know that I can do better.

“I must say that even if I play very well behind Marco Borriello, clearly things have changed from last season and it takes a while to get accustomed to it.”

Totti blasted several free kicks over the bar and joked as to his aim.

“Ah, they need to change the football! Having said that, my feet are getting old, too…”
