Milan and numerous foreign clubs have shown an interest, but it seems that a switch to the Nerazzurri is on the horizon.

“I met with President Massimo Moratti,” Palermo chief Maurizio Zamparini told Radio Radio. “We spoke about Silvestre and we are on the same page.

“There is a 99 per cent chance that a deal will be done. It will be a transfer worth around €8m to €10m.

“It is a lot easier to do deals when Presidents negotiate than when sporting directors hold discussions…”

Zamparini then went on to dismiss speculation that Milan could make a bid for Italian international left-back Federico Balzaretti.

“We’ve met with his agent and offered him a new three-year deal,” Zamparini continued. “There is little difference between demand and offer. He’ll renew.”
