"I know him," he stated. "He wants to remain here with us because he wants to play for us. You'll soon see him return to his highest levels."

Another aspect which has cast further doubt over Ronaldinho's future is the imminent arrival of Italy international Antonio Cassano.

"If he arrives then we would have signed a really strong player," the defender added. "He's an experienced player too and he could do very well for us."

Cassano is expected to arrive from Sampdoria after his falling out with Doria chief Riccardo Garrone.
