Sevilla confirm Steven N’Zonzi wants to leave, but insist the Roma transfer target will only be released “with an important offer.”

There is a €40m release clause in his contract and the 29-year-old had been eager for a move to England, but the Premier League transfer window has shut.

His father and agent admitted that Roma were “an option” and it’s reported Sevilla would be prepared to accept €38m, but the club isn’t going to bow down to his demands.

“It’s true that N’Zonzi wants to leave, but he still has two years left on his contract with us,” Sevilla director of sport Joaquin Caparros told Cadena Ser.

“He is on the market and if he wants to go, he must bring an important offer. Otherwise, he’ll remain here for another two years and he will respect his contract.”
