Destiny Udogie’s fastest Serie A goal this season was not enough for Udinese to earn all three points against Sassuolo at the Dacia Arena.

The Bianconeri had a strong start with the soon-to-be Tottenham player finding the net from the edge of the box after just 25 seconds. It was the fastest goal in Serie A this season, but Udinese were unable to keep the lead as Jaka Bijol deflected Matheus Henrique’s shot inside the net only six minutes later.

The Udinese defender made up for it by putting his side ahead again at minute 28. Lazar Samardzic’s long-range free-kick found the 24-year-old who stretched his leg in the middle of the box and sent the ball past Andrea Consigli.

Domenico Berardi was forced out of action due to a thigh injury, but Sassuolo managed to score again before the break. This time it was thanks to an own goal of Nehuén Pérez who intercepted a cross from the right but sent Marco Silvestri in the wrong direction.

The game was vibrant and saw Udinese push for a third goal in the second half. Florian Thauvin, who was introduced during the break, sent a shot wide and the same is true of Beto whose curler from inside the box didn’t get the big target.

Nedim Bajrami had the best chance for Sassuolo in the second half, but his effort was inches wide of the far post, while Sassuolo keeper Consigli denied Sandi Lovric before the stoppages, helping the Neroverdi return home with one point.
