Sassuolo and Italy winger Domenico Berardi was subbed off in the first half against Udinese due to a muscle problem.

The Italy international was forced out of action after just 12 minutes at the Dacia Arena, replaced by new signing Nedim Bajrami.

DAZN reports Berardi has suffered a thigh injury which will be assessed in the coming days.

The pitch reporter claimed Berardi didn’t seem too worried about his muscle issue but was disappointed for leaving the pitch early in the game.

The 28-year-old has five goals and three assists in 15 appearances this season but has been struggling with injuries, having already missed 12 games for the Neroverdi.

He suffered a biceps femoris muscle injury at the beginning of the season, remaining out of action for seven matches. He then had a thigh problem in his first match since his return to action in October, being forced to the sidelines for four more games.
