After the round that saw Juventus walk away with their fourth successive title Dave Taylor selects his best XI from Week 34.

Orestis Karnezis [Udinese]

The Greek ‘keeper was at his best throughout and courageously came to the rescue several times, especially late on when he pushed a powerful free kick from Rafa Marques to safety. Authoritative.

Alessandro Florenzi [Roma]

Difficult to pin down and confused opponents with his positioning. Cancelled any menace down the right and scored a sensational solo goal when running from deep to finish with a cracking shot into the top corner. Sensational.

Bostjan Cesar [Chievo]

Almost unbeatable and was always there when danger presented itself. Controlled Mauro Icardi and Rodrigo Palacio and closed any gaps up throughout the game, hardly putting a foot wrong. Integral.

Leonardo Bonucci [Juventus]

Kept a lid on things directing his fellow defenders and showed all his experience when putting the brakes on problems before they could develop. Made several crucial interceptions, including a vital sliding tackle onGonzalo Bergessio, while almost scoring himself later. Commanding.

Cristiano Del Grosso [Atalanta]

A solid display from the 32-year-old who pushed forward when the opportunity presented itself and put several dangerous balls into the mix. Yet despite his forward runs, he still limited any direct action from the normally dangerous Antonio Candreva. Unyielding.

Mohamed Salah [Fiorentina]

Probed and prodded the Cesena defence all game. Had a handful of strong efforts cleared and made some smart moves on and off the ball to find space, always making himself available for counter attacks. Dynamic.

Marek Hamsik [Napoli]

The Captain ran the show earning a penalty, which Gonzalo Higuain failed to convert, but he continued to menace before coming close with a subtle flick that bounced off the post. Finally rewarded when he snapped home a rebound. Alert.

Arturo Vidal [Juventus]

Never allowed the opposition any respite. Always looking to retrieve the ball, set up attacks or simply run with it into dangerous positions. Oh yes! He scored the vital winner for the title, with a precise looping header too. Vivacious.

Josip Ilicic [Fiorentina]

A top performance from the Slovenian, who scored a brace and tested Federico Agliardi several times. Eventually beating the ‘keeper with a fine penalty, he doubled the score minutes later with a meticulous ball into the far corner. Effervescent.

Dries Mertens [Napoli]

Made an impact as soon as he came on, inspiring his teammates to three goals. Always looking to threaten, his clever pull back set up Higuain’s goal and left defenders looking like they were climbing Vesuvius on a pogo stick. Vibrant.

Diego Farias [Cagliari]

The 24-year-old menaced the Parma defence all match. Lighting up the game with his pace, readiness to shoot and take people on, he scored a sensational goal following a superb touch before screaming the ball past the Parma ‘keeper. Effortless.

Special Mentions: Antonio Di Natale [Udinese], Silvan Widmer [Udinese], Paul Jose M’Poku [Cagliari], Mauricio Pinilla [Atalanta], David Lopez [Napoli], Federico Marchetti [Lazio], Giuseppe Biava [Atalanta]
