Beware of Greeks bearing gifts and the new boy certainly brought a few including a new-found awareness to the Roma defence. His solid tackling certainly cancelled out Kwadwo Asamoah and he almost scored except for a last minute tackle. Trojan-like.
Daniele Portanova [Genoa]
Led the Rossoblu backline perfectly and kept Udinese’s” data-scaytid=”16″>Udinese’s danger men Antonio Di Natale and Maicosuel in his back pocket throughout, forcing the latter off early in the second half. Overpowering.
Manuel Pasqual [Fiorentina” data-scaytid=”20″>Fiorentina]
Forced the pace so much he played more as a winger than a full back. Put in several dangerous crosses particularly the one that saw Adem Ljajicopen the scoring. Overwhelming.
Alessio Cerci [Torino]
Man of the Match and forced Atalanta’s” data-scaytid=”25″>Atalanta’s ‘keeper into a brilliant save from a left-footed thunderbolt early on. Made devastating runs down the right and scored with a homicidal right-footer that Andrea Consigli had no chance with. Astute.
Juraj Kucka [Genoa]
Another cracking performance by the Slovakian midfielder, who has missed just one match and ran the show, scoring his third goal of the season. Never stopped running and pushed the opposition defence right back into its own half. Perceptive.
Riccardo Montolivo [Milan]
Roamed all over the midfield, plugging gaps and punching holes in the opposition defence. His intelligence and perfect passing always put his team in a superior position. Almost scored late on with only Nicola Pavarini’s save denying him. Insightful.
Valter Birsa [Torino]
Came on as a sub and immediately made his presence felt down the left. The Slovenian soon had the measure of the opposition defence and was in the right place to convert Matteo Darmian's cross. Motivated.
Francesco Totti [Roma]
Another Man of the Match performance and his measured approach inspired his teammates to beat the League leaders. Scored the winning goal with an absolutely awesome effort that was right out of Er Pupone’s book of classic strikes. Immeasurable.
Adem Ljajic [Fiorentina]
It probably doesn’t get much better than this and his partnership with Stefan Jovetic ripped Inter to shreds. Scored two goals, his first saw him in the right place, while his second slammed past Samir Handanovic. Superior.
Stevan Jovetic [Fiorentina]
Two goals and an assist and a fabulous display, second to none. His first goal saw him outfox Andrea Ranocchia, while his second was a curling dynamic finish into the top corner. Quality.
