Gave security to the Viola’s left flank and regularly reached Atalanta’s by-line. It was from his super free kick that Rodriquez opened the scoring and if not for Consigli’s super save he would have scored himself. Versatile.

A veteran performance, that reminded everyone that while sometimes form is temporary, class is permanent. Scored a bristling brace, both of which were supremely decisive and also set up Luca Toni for the fourth goal. Classic.
Sergio Almiron [Catania]
An excellent performance throughout as he beat everyone to the ball to head in the opener from a corner. He then scored his second with a brilliant curved ball that screamed into the back of net via an angled drive. Acumenic.
Gokhan Inler [Napoli]
Opened the scoring with his awareness as his long-distance effort wrong-footed the ‘keeper. Always at the centre of things his intelligence saw him halt Milan’s counter-attacks on several crucial occasions, as he bossed the midfield. Responsive.

A superb display and a complete pain in the back side for the Inter defenders. Cleverly sprung the offside trap for his first goal and then was the first to react to a rebound for his second. Outstanding.

The beating pulse at the heart of Milan’s fightback, he scored two brilliant goals as his incisiveness clearly worried Napoli. Never stopped trying and almost scored the winner at the death. Awesome.
