Roma must do without Lorenzo Pellegrini, so Cristian Volpato starts with Nicolò Zaniolo and Eldor Shomurodov against Sassuolo, as Jose Mourinho tries to put derby disappointment behind him.

It kicks off at the Mapei Stadium at 17.30 GMT.

You can follow all the build-up and action as it happens from today’s five Serie A games on the LIVEBLOG.

The Giallorossi are still shaken after losing the Derby della Capitale to Lazio at the weekend, and lost Pellegrini to injury for the rest of 2022 as well, joining Paulo Dybala, Leonardo Spinazzola, Georginio Wijnaldum and Ebrima Darboe on the treatment table.

Australian-Italian talent Volpato therefore gets his first Serie A start to support Zaniolo and surprise pick Shomurodov, dropping both misfiring strikers Tammy Abraham and Andrea Belotti.

Sassuolo have Armand Laurienté back from suspension and need to get back on track after defeats to Napoli and Empoli.

Gregoire Defrel and Mert Muldur are still out injured, but Domenico Berardi has been added to the bench at the last minute.

Sassuolo: Consigli; Toljan, Ayhan, Ferrari, Kyriakopoulos; Frattesi, Maxime Lopez, Harroui; D’Andrea, Pinamonti, Laurienté

Roma: Rui Patricio; Mancini, Smalling, Ibanez; Celik, Cristante, Matic, Zalewski; Zaniolo, Volpato; Shomurodov
