Bologna left it late to secure all three points in their 2-1 win over Spezia this evening, with Marko Arnautovic making the difference.

The Ligurian side started the match on the front foot and had a number of chances in the opening 10 minutes, putting the home side under pressure. Their work was rewarded in the 11th minute, when Rej Manaj scored the opener, giving Spezia a vital 1-0 lead.

Spezia struggled to maintain this intensity, allowing Bologna to push back hard as they fought for an equaliser. Sinisa Mihajlovic’s side continued to fight and in the 40th minute they found their equaliser, with Marko Arnautovic tying things up before the half time break.

Things were all square at half time, giving both coaches much to think about as they both fought to distance themselves from a possible relegation battle.

The Rossoblu maintained control in the second half, shooting chance after chance at the Spezia goal, but nothing they tried made a difference. The Ligurian side defended well, limiting the space and reducing the number of chances available to Mihajlovic’s side.

Bologna pushed and pushed and finally in the 84th minute Arnautovic made the difference, netting his brace to secure all three points for the home side.
