Now that Napoli’s tiring draw with Cagliari is over, Luciano Spalletti can begin preparing for the second leg of their Europa League play-off tie against Barcelona.

The Partenopei picked up a vital point in the dying minutes of this evening’s Serie A clash at the Unipol Domus. Victor Osimhen netted a header from the back post to salvage something from a difficult evening in Sardinia, allowing Spalletti to breath a sigh of relief from the sidelines.

Napoli are now focused on Thursday’s match at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona, when they’ll host Barcelona in the second leg of their Europa League play-offs against Barcelona, which kicks off at 20.00 UK time. The aggregate score is 1-1, with Piotr Zielinski and Ferran Torres both finding the back of the net in the first leg at the Camp Nou.

Matteo Politano, Hirving Lozano, Lorenzo Insigne and Stanislav Lobotka are all at risk of missing the Europa League tie due to injuries. André Zambo Anguissa will also miss the match due to a muscle issue, and Kevin Malcuit is in doubt after suffering a calf problem during the draw with Cagliari.

Napoli’s form has dropped a little in recent weeks, with fatigue and injuries plaguing the squad. They’ve drawn their last three outings against Cagliari, Barcelona and Inter (all 1-1), but the fact that they’ll have the home support on Thursday could help to make the difference.

Barcelona are looking a little stronger compared to last week’s match. The Blaugrana thrashed Valencia 4-1 away on the weekend, with new signing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scoring a hattrick. He’ll be looking to impress against the Partenopei this week.
