Leonardo Semplici wants his SPAL players to approach their key clash with Cagliari ‘without pressure and fear.’

The Biancazzurri travel to Sardinia third from bottom of Serie A, four points and three places below their opponents.

Defeat to the Rossoblu would put the Ferrara side in danger of being cut adrift in the battle to stay in Italy’s top-flight, but Semplici believes his side is in good shape to rise to the challenge.

“Against Inter we changed the formation in order to limit their abilities,” the Coach said in reference to last week’s draw with Luciano Spalletti’s team.

“When we put on the second striker we were more dangerous. On Sunday I will assess it.

“My team is in good health and we face a team similar to ourselves. We lost the reverse fixture 2-0, so there is also the desire for revenge.

“We need to play without pressure and fear. We will compete.”
