Brazilian club Botafogo have made public their interest in Milan veteran Clarence Seedorf.

The Dutchman is out of contract with the Italian champions next month and there is some doubt over his future.

Although he will hold talks about a renewal with Milan this week, the former Dutch international is wanted by the South American outfit.

"Botafogo are counting on the player's desire to play and live in Rio," Botafogo President Mauricio Assumpao told TV Globo.

"Seedorf is married to a Brazilian and has a house in Rio.

"We have a marketing strategy already worked out to satisfy our financial needs and the player's too."

Seedorf, born in April 1976, has been with the Rossoneri since his surprise 2002 switch from city rivals Inter.
