Sassuolo director Giovanni Carnevali claims that €65m could not be enough to sign Gianluca Scamacca and Davide Frattesi and believes Domenico Berardi ‘may be the best Italian player at the moment.’

Scamacca and Frattesi are among the best performers in Serie A this term. The striker has been linked with Inter, Milan and Napoli, with the Nerazzurri leading the race to secure his services. What if the Serie A champions offered €65m for the pair?

“We’ll see. Perhaps, it may not be enough,” Carnevali told GR Parlamento.

“It may be a low offer, but it would depend on how the fee is divided.

“We’ve spoken to Inter and with other Italian and foreign clubs,” he admitted.

Domenico Berardi, Giacomo Raspadori and Hamed Traoré are also shining with Sassuolo this term.

“We are in no need to sell. They are important players and we’ll make our requests once we receive a formal offer,” added Carnevali.

“Berardi has grown at Sassuolo and there is a special bond with him. He is a champion and has become more mature.

“He is one of the best Italian footballers at the moment, maybe the best one. He may have the ambition to join a top club and we’ll make our assessments with him once we receive an offer. Fiorentina did make their move, but it was not enough and perhaps Berardi needs a top club.”

  1. 65-70m for those two seems reasonable.

Their realistic combined value would probably be around 40-45m, but given you always pay about 50% extra because they are Italian it seems about right.
