Sassuolo have secured a double deal with Gremio for Matheus Henrique and Ruan for a total €20m plus bonuses, but the defender won’t move until January.

According to UOL Esporte, Tuttomercatoweb and more, the two clubs are exchanging contracts now and the deal is done.

Midfielder Matheus Henrique is considered to be the heir for Manuel Locatelli, and the 23-year-old will cost €12m plus another €3m in various bonuses.

He will join the Neroverdi as soon as he has finished Brazil’s experience at the Tokyo Olympics.

As for defender Ruan Tressoldi, the situation is very different.

He is expected to move for €5m, but he will remain on loan at Gremio until 2022.

Gremio only own 60 per cent of his rights, so the total cost of that operation should eventually be closer to €8m once all parties receive their fees.

Serie A side Torino had also been tracking the centre-back, who just turned 22 last month.
