A month has passed since he was sacked to make way for novice Andrea Pirlo and his salary is worth €6m per season.
There is a clause allowing Juventus to terminate the contract a year early for €2.5m, but that is only valid from June 2021.
If Sarri takes the year off, he can continue to pocket the €6m wages and then force the club to pay a further €2.5m clause next summer.
