Hearts defender Aaron Hickey is expected to fly out to Italy tomorrow for his medical, completing the transfer to Bologna.

Director Walter Sabatini confirmed to The Sunday Post newspaper that “Hearts have accepted our offer and the player is very happy to wear the Bologna shirt next season.”

It’s reported to be a one-year loan with obligation to buy for a total sum of €2m.

According to the latest rumours coming out of Scotland, Hickey is set to fly out tomorrow for his medical.

The 18-year-old already visited the Bologna training ground several months ago as part of the negotiation process.

Hickey is primarily a left-back, but can also play in central defence or on the right side.
