According to Il Corriere dello Sport, Maurizio Sarri offered lunch to his Lazio players yesterday to ease the pressure on them ahead of the season’s restart.

Sarri is reportedly furious with club directors following a disappointing January transfer window when the Biancocelesti sold Vedat Muriqi and signed Jovane Cabral.

However, Sarri and his staff had no idea who the new signing was and rushed to watch some of his videos while Igli Tare finalised the deal.

The coach was ready to pen a new two-year deal in the capital in December but put talks on hold after the January transfer window.

According to Il Corriere dello Sport, Sarri wants to build a positive relationship with his players and reportedly took the team out for lunch yesterday.

The 63-year-old paid the bill in one of the best fish restaurants of the capital in the Parioli neighbourhood, but neither Claudio Lotito nor Igli Tare attended it.

Lazio are in the race for a European spot and sit eight with 36 points, as many as Fiorentina, their next opponent on Saturday.
