Maurizio Sarri has reportedly started negotiations with Juventus to terminate his contract in Turin and could be back in a Serie A dugout 'before Christmas'.
Sarri returned to Italy after one year with Chelsea, where he helped the Blues win the Europa League, but struggled to convince the Old Lady.
Despite winning the Scudetto in his first year at the Allianz Stadium, the Tuscan coach was eventually sacked, but his old friend Aurelio Virgili told Tuttosport he believes Sarri will return before Christmas and hopes he will take over Fiorentina.

“When I recently went to eat at Maurizio’s house, I didn’t see where he placed the Tricolor medal, but I gave him a personalised bottle dedicated to the triumph,” Virgili said.
“I, like all Fiorentina fans, despite having the utmost respect for Beppe Iachini, have a dream: Maurizio in Florence. Seeing him win with Fiorentina would be the best.”
He added that Sarri would have no problem returning to Napoli and revealed the former Partenopei coach has started negotiating the termination of his contract with the Old Lady.
“Maurizio is a professional and the separation with [Napoli President Aurelio] De Laurentiis didn’t cancel the mutual respect.
“I think and hope [he will return] before Christmas. With Juventus, despite what has been said, he didn’t fight. And this is demonstrated by the fact that he is talking to the club to terminate the contract.
“They are looking for an agreement that satisfies everyone and that allows Maurizio to feel free to coach and for Juventus to save."
