Maurizio Sarri defended Vedat Muriqi from fans’ criticism during a training session: ‘Stop it, or I’ll make you all leave.’

The Tuscan tactician confronted a few Lazio fans who had been criticising the Kosovo striker from the stands during a training session at Auronzo di Cadore.

“If I hear you say other things about Muriqi, I’ll make you all leave,” the former Napoli and Juventus coach told fans.

According to Calciomercato.com, another group of Lazio supporters praised the coach for defending the striker who had failed to live to expectations in his first season at the club.

Muriqi, 27, moved to the Stadio Olimpico in an €18.5m deal from Fenerbache in the summer of 2020 but managed just one goal in 27 appearances with the Biancocelesti in Serie A last term.

Sarri, who won the Europa League with Chelsea in 2018, has replaced Simone Inzaghi at Lazio, signing a two-year deal with the Aquile.
