Sarri would want a revamp of the current defence with players who already know his complex tactical movements.

Albiol is the easiest target, as his Napoli release clause is only €6m and he brings a wealth of international experience.

Another interesting addition for the defence would be Rugani, who Sarri already worked with at Empoli.

Napoli tried repeatedly to bring Rugani to the Stadio San Paolo, but Juventus always resisted, as they didn’t want to reinforce a direct rival.

Rugani turns 24 next month and is considered Italy’s next regular centre-back along with Milan’s Alessio Romagnoli.

He is struggling for playing time in Turin, though, and Coach Max Allegri doesn’t seem to have great faith in his capabilities.

The presence of Sarri and the chance to play in the Premier League could therefore tempt Rugani away.
