Juventus coach Maurizio Sarri has returned to the club’s headquarters for the first time in two months due to the coronavirus outbreak.

Sky Sport Italia journalist Gianluca Di Marzio confirms that the coach returned to the training facilities this morning, to oversee the training structure and work on resuming training with his staff.

On May 18, the group training will start again and for now only individual training can take place at Continassa. The coach therefore, writes Di Marzio, decided to remain distant from the J Village until now.

Sarri had been absent since the club’s last training session on March 11, before the government suspended all sports activities due to the pandemic.

After agreeing on a medical protocol for the resumption of Serie A, the Lega announced a provisional date to resume the 2019-20 fixture list from June 13, with contact training starting on Monday.

Juventus currently top the standings, one point above Lazio, ahead of the remaining 12 rounds of football.

Inter are currently third, nine points behind the league leaders, but with one game in hand.
