Agent Michelangelo Mineri is ‘not surprised’ by Fiorentina midfielder Gaetano Castrovilli’s good start in Serie A and reveals the player's Italy ambitions ahead of Euro 2020.

Castrovilli has played 24 games in Serie A since his return from loan at Cremonese, contributing three goals and two assists in the process.

The performances in the middle of the park at the Artemio Franchi has given the 23-year-old a lot of attention from the top clubs in Italy ahead of the upcoming transfer market, but his agent reveals the midfielder is not letting the rumours affect his focus on performing for the Viola.

Mineri told Tuttosport: “I followed Gaetano’s development over two years at Cremonese and what he has shown this season doesn’t surprise me.

“The impact he has had in Serie A has been important. He has adapted physically and shown his talent and personality.

“He attracted several admirers but has always done well to not get carried away. That’s one of his great qualities and will take him far.”

Castrovilli made his debut for Italy on November 15, 2019, and his agent reveals the goal is to make the Azzurri squad for Euro 2020 next summer.

“Gaetano has a contract until 2024 with Fiorentina and two of his biggest goals are to play for the National team and in the European Championship,” Mineri added.

“The stimuli are great regardless of the postponement. Although, it must be recognised that the competition being postponed can play in favour of guys like Gaetano, who will have added experience in the meantime.”
