Napoli Coach Maurizio Sarri confirms Raul Albiol will miss the Besiktas game and admits the Roma defeat “still hurts”.

The Partenopei take on the Turkish side in the Champions League tomorrow, and after his pre-match Press conference the tactician spoke to Premium Sport.

“It’s pointless to look back now,” Sarri said.

“Besiktas are a strong opponent who always manage to stay in the game, so we’ll need to play a good game. The Roma defeat still hurts, so playing right away in these kind of situations can be a positive thing.

“It’s clear that we didn’t play our best, but it was a game with chances on both sides. We tried to analyse it very calmly, trying to understand where we weren’t at our best so we can avoid making those same mistakes again.

“It can happen during a season, but we hope to get back to playing the way we know we can tomorrow.

“Albiol will definitely be out, unfortunately he won’t play, he won’t be ready to face the Turks. Today I’ll assess the others who are tired after the Roma game.”

Sarri lightly criticised Manolo Gabbiadini in his Press conference, has he spoken to the striker about how to improve?

“I didn’t have an individual chat with Gabbiadini. We talked with the team and watched the video of the Roma game.

“We highlighted the errors in attention.”
