Santos have accepted a €20m bid from Juventus for Gabigol, but negotiations with the player could be difficult.

It was reported last night that the Bianconeri had made the offer for the Brazilian striker, who has five goals and an assists in 10 Brazilian League games so far this season.

“We sent a letter to Wagner [Ribeiro, Gabigol’s agent], Valdemir and Lindalva [his parents] with the terms,” Modesto Roma confirmed to Globoesporte.

“We sent a letter to Wagner [Ribeiro, Gabigol’s agent], Valdemir and Lindalva [his parents] with the terms,” Modesto Roma confirmed to Globoesporte.

“If they think it’s interesting, then we’ll go to the next steps, including consulting Barcelona.”

The Catalan side have first refusal on the 19-year-old, and would likely be able to outbid the Old Lady if they so desire.

Another problem could be negotiations with the player, in an issue related to his registration.

Santos owns 40 per cent of the striker’s registration, while 40 per cent lies with the player and his family and the remaining 20 per cent is controlled by Doyen Sports.

Under the terms of the offer, Santos would be paid €18m, while Gabigol would have to give up his share of his registration for €2m, which some reports claim he is unwilling to do.
