Inter forward Alexis Sanchez has reportedly targeted a return from injury against Sampdoria after the international break.

The Chilean has carried out therapy in Barcelona lately and will not participate in Chile’s World Cup qualifiers.

Tuttosport reports he returned to Milan and is doing better, aiming to be available for Simone Inzaghi when the Nerazzurri continue on September 12 in Genoa.

Sanchez is pushing to continue at San Siro, as rumours in Italian media claim Inter are looking for his replacement at the club.

But he will stay at Pinetina during the international break to work for his return to the pitch with Andrea Ranocchia, Aleksandar Kolarov, Danilo D’Ambrosio, Federico Dimarco and Matteo Darmian.

Inzaghi has reportedly given those players four days off, but injured duo Sanchez and Roberto Gagliardini will continue working daily at Appiano.

Sanchez, who turned 32 in December, has appeared 70 times for the Beneamata since he joined from Manchester United, contributing 11 goals and 18 assists in the process.
