Milan responded to that action by admitting they had plans to install a hybrid playing surface with a synthetic base and natural grass on top.
Inter also later gave the green light to such an operation.
The Gazzetta today says that work on transforming the surface will begin in the middle of June and it should be ready for the Trofeo Berlusconi match between Milan and Juventus in August.
Ground staff at the Meazza have had difficulties looking after the turf ever since a third tier was added to the arena ahead of Italia ’90.
