It is a crucial game at the bottom of Serie A on Saturday and these Sampdoria vs. Lecce predictions suggest that it will be a tight affair at the Marassi.

Sampdoria vs. Lecce odds

1 – The draw – 2/1

2 – Under 2.5 goals scored – 8/13

3 – Both teams to score – 19/20

4 – A draw and BTTS  – 10/3

5 – Assan Ceesay to score at any time – 11/4

Sampdoria were able to win their first league game of the season the other week, after also scraping through the second round of the Coppa Italia on penalties, but this season has been anything but enjoyable so far for the Blucerchiati.

Dejan Stanković seems to have turned the tide a little though and a home game against struggling Lecce will be seen as a possible three points for the home side. But with goals still a rare commodity for Samp, a low-scoring draw might be a more likely result.

Sampdoria have scored by far the fewest goals of any club in Serie A this season but that will have to change at some point and this game could be the chance to at least record a positive result in an attempt to climb the table.

Lecce are also down near the bottom but have typically looked more like getting the results to keep them up this season than their hosts on Saturday. Draws have been more common though – and that could well be the case this weekend too.

The narrow defeat to Juventus and the draw with Udinese were particularly impressive and suggested that the Salentini will at least be able to give it their all this year. Marco Baroni will therefore have his eye on this fixture as a potential victory too.

But with little firepower in both sides, this game might turn out to be more of a midfield battle. If Lecce do manage to come away with at least a point it could be striker Assan Ceesay who finds the net.

Sampdoria team news

Dejan Stanković seems to be still working out his best starting eleven – and mindful that he cannot use the veteran Fabio Quagliarella all the time either. He does have Mehdi Léris back from suspension for this one, however.

Lecce team news

Marco Baroni could well be without star loanee Samuel Umtiti, who has struggled for fitness since coming in from Barcelona. Kastriot Dermaku might also be missing, so Marin Pongračić could make a return to the starting XI at the back.
