SampdoriaVerona could be rescheduled on Monday evening due to the Coronavirus outbreak, confirmed the President of the Regione Liguria.

That fixture is due to kick off on Monday at 19.45 GMT in Genoa.

“The Sampdoria-Verona match is in the Genoa zone, but could bring fans from all over the region, including Savona,” wrote Giovanni Toti on Twitter.

“Because of this, we are evaluating the risk and a decision will be made tomorrow.”

The number of positive cases of Coronavirus in Italy is now over 1,000, with the death toll rising to 29.

The regions hit hardest are Lombardy, Veneto and Emilia-Romagna, who have ordered the shutdown of public events and schools continuing throughout next week.

However, Liguria, Piedmont and Friuli are gradually easing their restrictions.

The Lega Serie A already postponed five fixtures from this weekend, rescheduling them to May 13.

They are UdineseFiorentina, JuventusInter, Milan-Genoa, Parma-SPAL and Sassuolo-Brescia.
