The Brazilian goalkeeper is under contract with Fiorentina until the summer, but has been dropped by la Viola in favour of Ciprian Tatarusanu after announcing his intention to leave.

Neto is believed to have an informal agreement with Juventus that would deter other big clubs from luring him in.

Even so, Tuttomercatoweb reports today that Sampdoria President Massimo Ferrero is looking into the possibility of cajoling the 25-year-old into a shock move to the Blucerchiati.

This would not be the first audacious move by Ferrero, as he has already brought in Samuel Eto'o from Everton and is in talks to sign Ajax defender Niklas Moisander today.
