Sampdoria director Carlo Osti confirms they ‘have an agreement with Tottenham and are finalising the details’ with Harry Winks.

The midfielder is on his way to Serie A after dropping down the pecking order at Spurs under coach Antonio Conte.

Negotiations have been going for several weeks and seem to be on the verge of completion, as confirmed to Sky Sport Italia.

“We have an agreement with Tottenham and are finalising the details with his agents,” said Osti this evening.

“We hope to conclude the deal as soon as possible.”

It is expected to be a dry loan for the 26-year-old England international, so without an option to buy at the end of the season.

Sampdoria certainly need a boost after a dismal start to the campaign, as they have failed to score a single goal in three games.

They were beaten 2-0 at home by Atalanta, held Juventus to a goalless draw, but tonight were absolutely hammered 4-0 by Salernitana in an early relegation tussle.

A product of the Tottenham youth academy, Winks is under contract until June 2024 and has 10 senior caps for England.
