Sampdoria President Marco Lanna assures the confidence in coach Marco Giampaolo is not only temporary. ‘We will talk to him and try to emerge from this situation together.’
The tactician is under fire after a dire start to the season, managing only two draws and five defeats in Serie A.
There was a Board of Directors meeting this evening, after which Lanna and other directors took Giampaolo out for dinner.
“We’ll exchange ideas with him, but temporary confidence is not something that can help anyone,” Lanna told reporters.
“We will talk to him and try to emerge from this situation together, because when things go badly, I believe it is everyone’s fault: players, club and coach.
“Normally it is the coach who pays the price, but this is a moment in which we all need to gather round and try to improve together.”
