Sampdoria are reportedly in talks with Napoli over a return for Andrea Petagna, and the Partenopei might be willing to part ways with the striker if Morten Thorsby arrives in return.

The Norwegian has been linked with a possible move away from the Blucerchiati this summer and Napoli are interested in striking a deal with the midfielder.

Samp are currently working to secure a dry loan for Petagna, to replace Manolo Gabbiadini, who suffered a nasty ankle injury in the opening game against Milan.

Tuttosport reports Sampdoria have asked Napoli for a loan deal, a formula that doesn’t interest the Azzurri.

But the newspaper believes Thorsby could be the key to see Petagna’s return to Marassi, as Napoli are interested in the former Heereveen player.

The 25-year-old Norway international played 90 minutes of the first game against the Rossoneri.
