Elche are reportedly pushing to sign Bologna defender Gary Medel, who should be open to leaving Serie A this month.
The 34-year-old Chilean has played both games in Serie A this term, as Bologna have picked up four points from two games, but Elche are still hoping to bring him to La Liga this summer.
Il Corriere dello Sport reports the player is considering a future outside of Italy and the player and his family are not against a move to Elche.
The former Inter player arrived in Italy in August 2014 and has experience from La Liga with a two-year stint at Sevilla between 2011 and 2013.
Medel spent three seasons at Inter before joining Besiktas in Turkey and then returned to Serie A with Bologna in 2019.
His contract at the Renato Dall’Ara expires in June 2022 and Bologna might be ready to let him leave one year early.
