Sampdoria have surpassed Atalanta and Milan in the race for Jakub Jankto and could sign the Udinese midfielder on Tuesday.

According to Sportitalia, the paperwork is written up and just waiting to be signed.

The two clubs agreed terms for €15m, spread out over several seasons, and the player will give his response within 48 hours.

Jankto said he wanted to leave Udinese and had interest from sides including Torino, Lazio, Milan, Atalanta and Monaco.

Atalanta had seemed to be the favourites, but suddenly Samp have surged forward with an agreement for the 22-year-old.

He already has 12 senior caps for the Czech Republic, and one goal, while he has been playing his club football in Italy since 2014.
