Sampdoria boss Marco Giampaolo has urged his side “not to be lulled too much” by their win against Juventus when they face Bologna.
Samp’s 3-2 victory over Juve last weekend was seen by many as proof of their European credentials, but Giampaolo made it clear his side had to move on from the result.
“Our current position in the table is a big surprise, but we’re feeling good and we’ll try to stay here as long as possible,” he said at a Press conference for Saturday’s trip to the Dall’ara.

“We mustn’t be lulled too much by the win against Juventus because the points at stake tomorrow have the same value [as those against Juve].
“We have to play with serenity and without anxiety. My lads are on point and I haven’t noticed any tension from them.
“We know that Bologna are a difficult team to face, and they must be respected. The team mustn’t be burdened mentally because if we play by having fun, we’ll certainly do better than what I’ve asked for.
“Ramirez back at Bologna? He’s a former player of theirs, but I’ve seen him calm like he’s always been.”
Roma President James Pallotta named Samp as one of the teams in the Serie A title race, so what did Giampaolo have to say?
“He also included us in the title race because we still have a game in hand,” he replied.
“If we win it, we’d have the same number of points as Roma.”
